In Loving Memory of Avonel Horne

1935 - 2007

Afterglow

I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one,
I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when day is gone.

I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times, and laughing times, and bright and sunny days.

I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun,
Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.

-- This was on Avonel's funeral card

Dear Golden Girls

We were all saddened to learn of Avonel's death from cancer on Thursday, June 21, 2007.  However, we can take solace in the fact that she is in a better place.  We shall all miss her cheerful and upbeat personality which was her trademark for so many years.

There is very little on the funeral home web site -- no obituary and no guest book to sign with condolences that I can find.  http://www.edomillerandsons.com/  She will be buried in the Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery next to her mother. Kay Fulmer sends the following  information which she received  when she called the funeral home:
