4Kay Fulmer
As some of you know, Kay (in her car) was hit by a drunken illegal Mexican after leaving Kroger in Buford last Saturday, October 14, 2006. Fortunately, she had no broken bones but was very shaken and bruised. She went through some mail boxes and had to have her car door pried open with jaws of life. Her car was damaged severely. He had a Florida drivers license since Florida gives these to everybody -- including illegal aliens. A woman was killed on Buford Hwy 2 daysago when she left Kroger parking lot to cross Buford and go up Commerce Dr. An illegal with no license went through light and hit and killed her. Following is the latest news from Kay on Wednesday, October 18.
I just found out after digging that he does have liability insurance. The last I heard he was in jail with DUI and his car impounded. On the police report he said he had 6 or more beers.I am having bad muscle pain but thank the Lord I have no broken bones or bleeding. I was taken to the Emergency hospital and will see my Internist on Thursday. I know I need therapy. I don't know if he will send me to my back surgeon or not.So far the car estimate is $8233 to repair what can be seen and now it is torn down to see what is wrong on the inside. I think the Edmonds value on my car is about $16,000 to $17,000. I didn't even have 50,000 miles on it.Kay
My suggestions to Kay . . . Since we know that he probably has no money, I would like to find out who hired this illegal criminal and sue the heck out of the employer who hired the drunk. If enough employers get sued maybe they would stop hiring them. If they cannot get work here, that would be a good motivation for them to stay in Mexico. Perhaps this would be a good "Sonny Do" request.

4Berna Spencer
Berna was unable to attend the October luncheon in Dillard since she had to go for her final follow up for her last cataract surgery in mid September. She is now ready to get her glasses. My Trip by Berna: Went up the north east. Started at Natural Bridge, VA, Luray Caverns, Va, Monticello, visited a sorority in Hagerstown, Md. On to Gettysburg, PA, Amish Country at Lancaster, PA, Hershey, PA. Then to Wycoff, NJ where we visited with Pete's ole high school buddy and his wife. They took us to West Point, New York City tours for three days; saw "The Producers" on Broadway. Then back to Richwood, WV to visit Pete's Mother. Took in the leaf tours there; took the Potomac Eagle Train along the Potomac River. Had a good time except for me deciding to fall.
4Bettye Chambers
Bettye did pass the GBI clearance and has recently received the official news release where she has been appointed by Governor Perdue to serve on the GA Council on Aging. She may be calling on some of you for suggestions or "Sonny Do" items. Read press release - Read proclamation
4Margaret Floyd
BettyeI'm sorry that I did not send you a change of my address during the year. I'm still going to Spartanburg to stay with my Mother quite often, and I simply forgot about the fact that I had not send you a change in my address. We moved in March to Loganville. My new address is 513 Sandy Cove Drive, Loganville, GA 30052. Telephone number is 770-554-3166.I can't believe that we had such a large number on Tuesday for the GG luncheon. My husband had no plans for staying for lunch on Tuesday. This was a last minute decision after we realized that three other husbands were there. We had driven up to Clayton on Monday to see the leaves and stay over at our home there. We really appreciate all the extra you do to keep us informed and the wonderful job you do with the newsletter. Congratulations on your appointment with the Senior Council.
4Kathryn Bradford and Sue Moore
Kathryn was unable to attend the Dillard House luncheon since she is recovering from back surgery and had a doctor's appointment. This was Sue's time share week in Florida, and she was unable to attend the luncheon, also. We missed both of them who live not too far from Dillard.

YOU MIGHT BE A SCHOOL EMPLOYEE IF.... Just in from Kay Fulmer
.. you believe the playground should be equipped with a Ritalin salt lick.
.. you want to slap the next person who says, "Must be nice to work 8 to 3:30
and have summers off."
.. it is difficult to name your own child because there's no name you can come up with that doesn't bring high blood pressure as it is uttered.
.. you can tell it's a full moon without ever looking outside.
.. you believe "shallow gene pool" should have its own box on a report card.
.. you believe that unspeakable evils will befall you if anyone says, "Boy, the kids sure are mellow today."
.. when out in public, you feel the urge to snap your fingers at children you do not know and correct their behavior.
... you have no social life between August and June.
.. you think people should have a government permit before being allowed to reproduce.
.. you wonder how some parents MANAGED to reproduce!
.. you laugh uncontrollably when people refer to the staff room as the "lounge."
.. ou encourage an obnoxious parent to check into charter schools or home schooling.
.. you think caffeine should be available in intravenous form.
.. meeting a child's parent instantly answers the question,
"Why is this kid like this?"
Be sure to send us news about your trips, anniversaries, grand children, jokes, photos, etc. to go in our next GG E-News.
