Golden Girls Health Updates and Other News

▪ Avonel Horne came through her January 12 surgery and seems to be doing well. She recently made a trip to her daughter's in South Georgia and is back home now.

Feb. 13.
My wheat reaction has been really bad. A lot of congestion, coughing, nosebleeds, wheezing, fatigue. It will probably take 2 more weeks for it all to go away. My allergy doc really got on to me for even having wheat flour in the house and when I actually told him I sifted 2 cups of it I thought he would explode. He predicted that the next time- if ever- I'll end up in the hospital.

▪ Nell Foster is just back from another trip to North Carolina where she visited her precious little Great Grand Savannah. She never misses an opportunity to visit Savannah -- and Savannah's parents ;- ) I guess.

▪ Bettye Chambers will be going to Washington, D.C. March 15 - 19 for the NFRW Spring Board meeting at the Washington Court Hotel. Again she will be going with the Board of Regents for Tea at the White House with First Lady Laura Bush. This time her daughter, Lisa Hoover who lives in Suwanee, will be going with her. Bettye recently has been appointed to the NFRW Board as National Web Site Coordinator where she will be working with the State Federations who do not yet have a web site up and running. Thirty-five of the 50 states do have web sites already.
