Please let Margaret know by Sunday, February 18, if you will be attending. Of course, we can usually add one or two more at the least minute if you have a change in plans.

Kay Fulmer is working on the March luncheon, and she has a very nice place to visit after the luncheon. More on this later. If you have signed up for a month but have not given us a location yet, please let us know as soon as possible.

4News from the Golden Girls

n Jean Kammerer

I will not be able to make it to Golden Girls this time. I have a meeting with the Dunwoody Woman’s Club. I have accepted the position of Vice President for the coming year, and I am going to sit in on the report workshop to better understand my job.

Next week I’m leaving to fly to Tucson and then on to Mexico’s Copper Canyon for a two week tour. With all the Mexicans there I thought I could visit them, and then I will come home. The thing that irks me is that I have to pay $20 to enter Mexico. I know, I know, I’ve had to do that in many foreign countries I have visited, but this time it still irks me.

n Bettye Chambers goes to Washington, D.C. again

Once again my daughter Lisa and I shall be flying to D.C. on March 27 to attend the NFRW Spring Board of Directors meeting and tea at the White House with First Lady Laura Bush. On Wednesday this year we shall be attending the Legislative Day at the Capitol where our group will visit a session of the House followed by a Capitol building tour and a visit to our Congressmen's offices. Before leaving the Capitol there will be group photo made on the Capitol Steps. This year we shall be there for the beginning of the Cherry Blossom Festival.

4The Recipe
Pink Valentine's Day Salad (for those who still cook ;- )

1 (13-oz.) can crushed pineapple, juice included
1 (3-oz.) pkg. grape Jello
16 large marshmallows
1 (8oz) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup milk
1 (8 oz.) carton Cool Whip

Heat first three ingredients til marshmallows melt. Set aside to cool.
In large bowl, beat cream cheese and milk til smooth. Fold in Cool Whip.
When the Jello mixture has cooled, combine the two mixtures and pour
into an attractive serving dish. Refrigerate until cool.

Note: You must use grape Jello to get the pretty pink color.
