Hope you have marked your calendar for July 18 for our next Golden Girls luncheon. Yes, that is voting day for the primaries, but word is that most of us will not be working at the polls this time. Click here to read about it on our web site.

2006 Voter's Guide

Take a look at the home page of our web site at www.goldengirls03.org where we have several new items listed including a Voter's Guide 2006. There is a list of metro county candidates from the AJC, complete list of candidates from theSecretary of State web site.and Election Dates for 2006 among other items pertaining to our elections. Don't forget to vote on July 18 either before or after our Golden Girls luncheon. Early voting begins on Monday, July 10. Many counties will have poll type questions on the ballot. Some of the counties include questions on whether or not you support the Fair Tax HR 25, the National Sales Tax introduced in Congress by Georgia's own John Linder.

If any of you have friends or relatives in the 49th GA Senate District (Hall County and part of Jackson) PLEASE tell them to be sure to vote for Mark Musselwhite, who has served two terms on the Gainesville City Council and also served as Mayor of Gainesville. We have a rich RINO dentist running for this most important seat in the Republican primary who has never been elected to any political office in his life. He has always been a Democrat until recently and has always voted Democrat. Suddenly he has decided to run as a Republican since Hall county is now predominately Republican, so he has crossed over. His father was Chairman of the Hall Democrat Party for 25 years.

Avonel Horne

Please remember Avonel in your thoughts and prayers as she goes into the hospital again in Snellville for surgery on Monday, July 10. Let us pray that this will be her last surgery and all will go well.

Minnie Black's Birthday Luncheon

In case you missed it, take a look at the photo page of our May Luncheon and Minnie's special birthday. It was a wonderful event with 15 Golden Girls participating.

Mabel Wallace - Trip to Panama (This was back in April)

Our recent cruise to Panama Canal on Coral Princess was GREAT. I will give you a short breakdown. If you have been on a cruise you will know what I am saying about--lots to see, do and all that stuff. Sorry I missed visiting with all present at Golden Girls but as you see I was busy.

We traveled with Dennis' brother and his wife. All had a ball. Left port from Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. on April 13th. We were at sea the next day before docking at Cozumel. Grand Cayman was a full day stop. At sea the 17th. Limon was our stop on the 18th,, Panama Canal the 19th also Cristobal. At sea the 20th. Ocho Rios all day the 21st. Sea 22nd. back to Ft. Lauderdale on the 23rd. A full 10 days. Days that we got off we tried to see everything we could and were very tired persons when we boarded to go another leg of the trip. It was a very relaxing trip, if you did not want to get off when in port there was plenty aboard you could do or you could just lounge, watch people, etc.

As I said we four had a ball yet had time to rest also. See you at Steak and Ale May 16th.
