Important Social Security News
from Jane Richardson - April 29, 200I have information that some of our "co-retired" ladies might find of interest. I am one of those unfortunate souls who contributed to social security for many years only to find that it was reduced by two-thirds when I retired! Anyway, the Georgia Retired Teachers Association Bulletin has an article published in the Spring 2004 edition about a repeal of the law that reduces our social security benefits because we receive a teacher retirement. Anyone interested in this article may go to the web site www.grea.biz/ and look for the article entitled "Social Security Fairness Act of 2003 (H.R.594/S.349). There are addresses for emailing our representatives and senators included but I found that it is better to go to the internet and look each one up separately to contact them. Don't know if anyone else is interested or not

Joke of the Day
from Avonel HorneKerry/Bush Joke
G. W. Bush and John Kerry somehow ended up at the same barbershop.
As they sat there, each being worked on by a different barber, not a word was spoken. The barbers were even afraid to start a conversation, for fear it would turn to politics. As the barbers finished their shaves, the one who had Kerry in his chair reached for the aftershave. Kerry was quick to stop him saying, "No thanks, my wife Theresa will smell that and think I've been in a whorehouse,"The second barber turned to Bush and said, "How about you?" Bush replied, "Go ahead, my wife doesn't know what the inside of a whorehouse smells like."
Cartoon of the Day --
Have you been reading about the teachers in Gwinnett who have been involved in this bogus degree scandal? And they wonder why the students cheat???
Hope to see you on May 18 at Sycamore Grill in Stone Mountain.
