November Luncheon

October Luncheon
Many thanks to Edith Nash and her son-in-law for the great cookout luncheon on October 16.  Just wish that I could have been there. Reports are that it was a delicious lunch with a grand tour of the newly enlarged home in Tucker. Attending were:  Edith, Jane Richardson, Nell Foster, Mabel  Wallace, Kay Fulmer and Berna Spencer.

News From the Girls
  • "Our trip to the New England states was great.  We started out up the Outer Banks.  Had not been there in ages.   Went as far north as Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.  Spent four days with friends in Atlantic City at their time share.  Had not ridden a bike in 20+ years but rode on the boardwalk in Atlantic City.  We rode the cog railroad to the top of Mt. Washington; almost got blown away up there.  Many places the leaves were already turning.  We had beautiful weather."  Berna Spencer
  • We are very sad to report that Nell Foster's children moved her into an assisted living home in Tucker yesterday.  After her automobile accident on September 11 she seemed disoriented, and the doctor told her family that she should not be left alone in her home. The children moved her in, hung pictures, and do-dads on her walls and just made it all look so pleasing that she was surprised it was all her stuff.  They did a good job, and Nell seemed pleased that it looked so nice and homey.  According to Mabel Wallace, Nell appears to be reconciled to living there.  SunRise is out Hwy 29 where Lavista runs into 29 at Wal-Mart after you go by Tucker High. Continue on 29, and you will cross where Jimmy Carter begins. There will be housing developments all along 29 as you go pass Pike Nursery. There will be a right turn lane right in front of SunRise.

    Nell's address is:  Nell Foster, Sunrise at Tucker, Room 207 - 5844 Hwy 29, N.W. - Tucker, Georgia 30084   Her Phone number:  770-717-0606.  She is not answering the phone yet since they want to give her a week or two to become adjusted to the new environment.  She is not yet doing e-mail either.   • "I finally got Macon Wells'  telephone number.  It is 864 288-6818.  I understand she is living in an assisted living place and not with her daughter.  But apparently she is doing well. I am still battling low hemoglobin and that robs me of my energy.  I am going to see a surgeon tomorrow and am hoping he will do a colonoscopy and see if I am losing blood through my colon.   We'll see......  "  Elsie Laurens
