Fifteen Golden Girls gathered together at the Steak and Ale in Tucker on May 16, 2006, to wish out #1 Golden Girl, Minnie Black, a Happy 90th birthday.  Joining in the gala luncheon/party were:

Edith Nash, Roberta Middlebrooks, Sue Moore, Jane Richardson, Mabel Wallace, Nell Foster, Emily Temply, Jean Donohoe, Frances Bowen, Agnes Nelson, Kay Fulmer, Jean Kammerer, Martha McCullough and Bettye Chambers.

On behalf of all the Golden Girls Jean Donohoe presented Minnie with a beautiful long scarf -- Kay Fulmer gave her a beautiful bouquet of yellow roses, and Bettye Chambers presented her with a flip album with a brushed silver cover which said  "Minnie's Memories  -- our #1 Star Teacher from the Golden Girls -- HAPPY 90th! "  Inside the album were some group photos of the Golden Girls at various luncheon gatherings.  She was also presented a printout of the Members page of our web site listing all of the Golden Girls with a small photo of each. Minnie is an avid Republican, and Bettye presented her with a photo taken recently at the
Tea at the White House with First Lady Laura Bush.

Left: Jean Donohoe and Frances Bowen helped Minnie load her gifts into the car for their trip home. Frances and Jean picked Minnie up at her house and chauffeured her to the luncheon/party. This event was definitely one of the high moments in Golden Girls luncheons! Minnie really seemed to enjoy the occasion.
MANY HAPPY RETURNS, MINNIE!
